MCP2

The Goal: to reduce key barriers and facilitate the implementation of national multidisciplinary collaborative primary maternity care strategies as a means of increasing the availability and quality of maternity services for all Canadian women.

MCP2 's strength: lies in the partnerships that have been established.

Partner Organizations include the: 

• Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses Canada (AWHONN Canada)
• Canadian Association of Midwives (CAM)
• College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC),
• Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC),
• Society of Rural Physicians of Canada (SRPC
• Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) (joined the Executive Committee to support the issues and interests of nurses and nurse practitioners.)

The MCP initiative is funded by the Primary Health Care Transition Fund of Health Canada.
